Well, what a weekend. It really was love at First Site where my first launch took place and hopefully you have seen plenty of evidence of that. Many people came to support and the atmosphere was fantastic with a mixture of great stalls and the Holi festival, so all round plenty of things for people to get involved in. The feedback was fantastic and I was thrilled at how adventurous a bunch you all are.
I admit I was nervous the day before. Especially as I still had so much preparation to do. On top of that I was working all day in London so didn't come home until 8pm which is when my labours of love began. So all in all a late night. In the aftermath whilst reflecting with my Plus One and a large Malbec, it was interesting for me to know that at no point during the very late night and early morning preparations did I once think "What am i doing?" or "Why have I got myself into this?"
Which is encouraging and shows that whatever the outcome, my decision to pursue this path is the right one. In fact I can't stop thinking about this venture. I'm obsessed. A bit like Glenn Close from Fatal Attraction. Minus the bunny boiling. And perm. And the knife wielding. Although my Plus one was confronted by someone slightly similar in the early hours of Saturday morning when he politely enquired as to whether he could help............
My expectations were low and I know I have a lot to learn. No doubt. There are things I would already do differently and dishes that I would change but for now fellow Colchestrians, I remain your ever humble servant.
Humble in ingredients but by no means in flavour. Most definitely the star of this particular show.......Tomato curry with cauliflower rice.
